Spring wedding inspiration
at Leicester Guildhall

Oooh, we have got all the pretty spring goodness right here.
Leicester Guildhall teamed up with Planner: A R Weddings, Stylist: Two.Eight.One and Florist: Poppy Scout Co to bring you the perfect Spring in The City editorial.
From gorgeous stationery, stunning tablescapes and cool couple portraits, this one is definitely ready for those pinterest boards.

The Info…

With Leicester Guildhall already fit to bursting with colourful and authentic decorative detail, the team knew that they needed to go big and bold when it came to designing this shoot.

Creating a Spring Maximalist concept,George from Two.Eight.One brought together a palette of bright pinks, greens, yellows and orange hues, to perfectly reflect LeicesterCity’s vibrant cultural scene and the fun, party loving nature of the couples that choose to have their weddings at Leicester Guildhall.

Hattie from Poppy Scout Co, created beautiful moveable arrangements that could line both down the aisle for the ceremony and then used as window boxes within the Mayor’s Parlour for the drinks reception look. Large colourful poppies, anemones, hellebores and daffodils to name but a few, cleverly reflect the colours found within the stunning 15th century stained glass windows.

Their bold colours further emphasised against the dark oak wood panelling found in this historic building. For a drinks reception that packs a punch, George from Two.Eight.One used a muted pink tablecloth as a base for eclectic vintage brass and glassware, alongside green ceramic cabbage bowls filled with fresh citrus fruit and a collection of floral paintings; could it be any more instagrammable?

Model, Valentina, wears this made to measure, adorable polka dot dress with ribbon sleeves by Susanna Greening Designs with ‘Love’ ribbon in her hair to match, and complimentary Charlotte Mills Shoes. Daniel keeps it classy and wears a classic black tux; what a gorgeous pair...

About the venue…

Situated in the heart of Leicester’s Old Town Quarter, just around the corner from where a certain king was found in a car park, Leicester Guildhall is favoured by couples who are looking for the vibrancy of a city centre wedding with that little added extra. For Leicester Guildhall, that ‘little added extra’ is over 600 years of history which is practically imprinted into the very fabric of the building itself. From intimate elopements to larger gatherings, Leicester Guildhall is the perfect place for couples looking for a truly unique city wedding venue.

The Great Hall
Featuring original architectural details, the 14th century timber-framed Great Hall, where grand feasts were once held and Shakespeare’s players once performed on stage is used for larger gatherings of up to 90 guests.

A Secret City Escape
With the private enclosed courtyard space offering a sun trap for after ceremony drinks, or the option of a cosy open fire in the Great Hall for colder months, Leicester Guildhall is popular all year round for wedding celebrations.
Drinks Receptions
