Beauty in Sustainability
Sustainability in the wedding industry is gaining traction as couples seek to minimise the environmental impact of their special day. From using local, organically-sourced materials, or finding pre-loved items for decorations, favours and tableware, to choosing suppliers who share eco-conscious values. When this shoot landed in our inbox, we simply had to share for those of you who seek inspiration for sustainability on your own wedding day.
Here’s Rachael from Electric Joy Ceremonies to tell us more about this submission:
How would you sum up the inspiration behind this submission in one paragraph?: “Sustainability now more than ever is becoming more prominent in the wedding industry. When new things are often considered first when planning a wedding rather than upcycled, pre-loved or repurposed items, this shoot aimed to highlight that you can still have a show stopping day using items and suppliers which are more eco conscious.”
Tell us about the theme of submission?: “ The submission is to highlight beauty in sustainability ; that beauty can be found in even the most unassuming of places and things, and this can help every couple achieve a stunning aesthetic whilst being kinder to planet earth.”
Tell us about the venue?: “The venue for the shoot was Hothorpe Woodlands in Leicestershire. Nestled in the heart of the Leicestershire countryside, Hothorpe provides a natural and rural aesthetic which really complimented the sustainability theme.”

The variations of deep purple give real depth of colour and are a welcome change from the usual burnt orange and brown we see this time of year. Teamed with the hunter green, these colours are perfect for both indoor and outdoor as highlighted in the final images.
