Baubles - tick, twinkling lights - tick, spruce, pine cones, chestnuts - tick, tick, tick! Short of popping Santa in the corner, these images scream Chrimbo and are giving us all of the festive feels!
Pulled together by a super talented team of East Midlands wedding suppliers, we get the behind-the-scenes low down from the shoot from organiser, Sarah, from Big Day Props…
The Vibe
A Christmas Wedding, held late in the day, bathed in the golden glow of candlelight. Rich gold accessories paired with dark red and blue create a warm inviting room scape with spruce, chestnuts, pine cones and glass bauble details, giving a gentle nod to the Christmas theme.
A fireplace mantle dressed with lush greenery and accents of dark red creates the perfect backdrop to capture our winter bride, with meadows providing drama, using dark reds, intense berries and tall dark grasses to create movement and softness.
Shot with two very different dresses. The first classic and timeless, styled with sleek hair and a stunning hair vine. The second soft, floaty and made for twirling around the dancefloor, with hair and hair pin to reflect the dress.
The Venue
Shot at the beautiful Alrewas Hayes, near Burton-upon-Trent, this shoot features The Orangery where most ceremonies are held. With period touches throughout, the orangery adds an air of elegance with its distinctive curved ceiling, arched windows and doors opening out on to a covered courtyard. Set is extensive grounds, The Lakeside reception room overlooks a private lake, woodlands and wheat fields beyond.
