Inspired by Mini Eggs

Mini egg inspired Easter shoot; what is not to love?

Well isn’t this pastel toned, tulip filled shoot just full of all of the joys of Easter. On International Women’s Day, an all female team came to create a bright and cheerful editorial Inspired by iconic Easter treat, Mini Eggs and we absolutely love the results. Make a cuppa, crack open your egg and settle in for Lianne, from Foyetography, to tells us all about the details (we can’t think of a more perfect East Sunday!)…

Lianne says…

The Inspiration came from a conversation about Mini Eggs (am I allowed to say the Cadbury ones?). We discussed that the yellow ones taste best (true) and that it would be a gorgeous base colour for a styled shoot. I showed the girls the work of an Egg Artist I'd been hoping to work with, and we all agreed that a Full Spring Explosion was what we wanted to create.

Daffs, Tulips, Eggs, Bunnies, and a Pastel Palette, to give those Spring Time Vibes. We wanted a fresh, happy, sunny theme to lift us up from the long winter.

With Lemon Yellows, Powder Blues with Greens, Lilacs and Pink accents. 'Bunny Ear' Napkin folding and the Venue's own bunny salt n pepper shakers added the extra little details.

Sheeba's Egg Sculpture Ring Box was made as a Bespoke piece especially for this shoot. The detail is exquisite with hand carved and embroidery detail. The blue satin and lace interior, framed the hand calligraphed scroll created by Allie, from Polly & Me. She also created the watercolour painted place cards and table signage in a mixture of yellow, blue and pink which gave even more vibrancy to the table.

I'd seen the Rosa-Clara gown a couple of weeks before at Ivory Fox and knew straight away it was the one. A nude colour with soft, off the shoulder detail and lots of tulle layers with a leg split to show off the Rainbow Club glittery sneakers. I couldn't resist adding extra florals by having little stems shoot out from the sides of the shoes. And since our model was also our florist, it seemed appropriate somehow.

During our first chat about ideas, Hannah (Bake!) got excited when Amy (Polka-Dot Florist) mentioned she'd like to hang little test tubes to display the small stems. Turns out Hannah had been wanting to use them to display florals around a cake for a while but hadn't had the right shoot yet to do it. Great minds!

And of course, macarons are the ideal way to incorporate edible, colour co-ordinated details to any wedding theme (I can confirm their deliciousness). The Kedleston Country House was the perfect venue for this styled shoot. The Orangery's Glass Ceiling fills the room with so much beautiful light, we knew it would be amazing to show off the fresh florals and décor we were planning. The Venue is a Georgian House set in the historic Kedleston Estate and is surrounded by Derbyshire countryside. It is family run by sisters Helen & Sally and their awesome team.
