Get some inspo…

Having a little bit of an idea of what sort of design you would like before searching for a cake maker is a great idea as all will have their specialties; getting a few styles together, a Pinterest board or some saved images on Instagram will help you to know what you like.

Therefore, once you start searching, you will know whether a designer has the same look as your inspo and it also really helps when it comes to getting in touch with the designer, so that they know what different elements you like.

Get in touch…

As with all your wedding suppliers, you should enjoy working with them. You want to work with people you like and that understand what you want on your big day, so get in touch with them and get a feel for whether they’re a good “fit” for you.

Before falling for a certain supplier, it’s a great idea to send them a quick message to check their availability for your wedding date so you’re not disappointed. I have a super easy and quick quote form on the first page of my website where you can check this.

Get tasting…

The best part of choosing a wedding cake, or maybe even of planning a wedding, has to be the cake tasting. It’s important to not only love the look of the cake you choose but also really look forward to eating it on your wedding day (or as a hangover breakfast the day after).

I do sample boxes which are available to order on my website at any point in your wedding planning – to make sure I am right for you, to remind yourself of the flavour options or to just give yourself a mid-planning treat; cake is always a good idea!

Get the right design for your day…

So you’ve got your inspo, your cake maker and your favourite flavours– now you just need your design! The best cakes will always result from letting your designer’s creativity flow a little.

Chatting through the sorts of designs and elements you like will get their cogs turning and then they will be able to suggest ways to incorporate these things together.

Enjoying all of their work means you can trust them to create something special for you and something that feels right for your wedding
