Lu & Ryan

Welcome to the wedding of Lu and Ryan

A DIY Wedding giving you all the inspiration to create a fun and colourful day.

We love a DIY wedding. The hard work and heart that goes into making those details, makes the wedding day that extra special. Lu and Ryan not only created on the day stationery but loved creating 30 cake stands, a cake swing, a log post-box, the bakes for centrepieces and of course a 4 tier cake.

The amazing floral designs were from Daisy works, who created a floral curtain aisle leading up the Holy Cow neon sign that marked the 'alter' and then she surrounded the Courtyard in a floral bunting. Tying it in nicely were the brides and bridesmaids bouquets, which were so incredible it looks like they never put them down. The flowers were the thread that tied the day together, they even had gorgeous edible flowers scattered across the table centrepieces.

Lu & Ryan looked like they had the best day and some of that wouldn’t of been possible without their amazing photographer Vicki.
”She was like a maid of honour, running here there and everywhere, cutting tags off dresses, fetching umbrellas, dancing away, she was fun, made us so comfortable and the photos are stunning!”

Have a nosey at all these beautiful details in the gallery below.

Eye Candy

To Sum it up: Fun, Tasty, Wet and Ours…

Lu says… ”FUN - we couldn't stop smiling and laughing the whole day, I swear I spent more time rolling around on the floor than standing up. TASTY - with street food shacks, mojito post ceremony drinks, pizza wagon, table centrepieces made of cakes & bakes, favours were our guests' individual favourite drinks and a mega 4 tier cake on a swing - our bellies may have done most of the planning! WET, It rained all day and night except for a magical half hour for group photos. It was so atmospheric hearing it thudding down on the canopy. After our final awesome photo at the end of the night I resembled a giant slug leaving a moist trail behind every step I took! Luckily I had a back up dungee dress to change into. OURS, we did exactly what we wanted, I surprised Ryan with the Death March (Darth Vader soundtrack) to walk down the aisle to for a laugh, he trumped that by surprising me when I went to put his ring on and I realised he'd had 'Til Death' tattoed on his finger! We had our fur baby with us all day, played on Space Hoppers, axed the cake, danced like mad and finished the night off with our mates in the hot tub!

Advice from the bride…

I know I could say "try to relax, have fun, savour every moment" In all honesty - consider hiring a wedding planner and stylist!
Whilst I loved what we organised and made, it was EXHAUSTING, never underestimate how long it takes to find the right napkins and hand-paint wooden signs to create your vision. On the day we had to sort out so much stuff that we weren't expecting - suppliers running late, things in the wrong places, timings out of whack, so many questions and communication needed, it made the day go even faster. A wedding planner can even be hired just to be there on the day and ensure all your plans go smoothly = less stress + more fun for you!
