The favourite details…

I loved the morning of the wedding, it was so calm, everything went perfectly and we were ready in plenty of time. Before the wedding I had been labeled a 'Monica' for making a timetable for hair, makeup, location changes and when to get dressed...clearly it paid off!

It seems obvious but just having all our friends and family from all avenues of our lives together in one place was just amazing. Being able to flit from uni friends, different family members, to old and new work colleagues felt very special.

As we'd planned the styling of the venue ourselves, it was so exciting to see it all come together. The final look was exactly what we were hoping for; deep, warm, sparkly, winter vibes! (We think you did an amazing job)!

From the beginning of the day, you could feel the quiet buzz of excitement that built throughout the day and came to a crescendo in the evening. I was so nervous as we were all lined up waiting for the entrance music to start, my dad took my hand and squeezed it all the way down the aisle.

The low down…

Myself and the bridal party spent the night before in the Old Stable and began getting ready there in the morning before moving over to the bridal suite.
The ceremony was personal to us as it had been written by Karen to tell the story of our relationship from when we met at 16. It involved our guest with the tradition of ring warming, readings performed by our friends and vows written by ourselves (which even got a few laughs).

It started to rain after the ceremony but that didn't stop the fabulous Rosie and Lou from getting amazing photos and video content in the Glass Barn. The drinks and photo reception was a beautiful whirlwind, greeting all of our fabulous guest and enjoying the delicious canapes and mulled wine.
We had decided to do the main speeches before the meal, as always the best-man's speech received roars of laughter as he involved a group of Jake's friends in the speech to pull off a gag at my expense!

My Auntie Sammy incredibly made all three of the wedding cakes, my best friend is a wedding hair stylist and did all of the bridal parties hair and my amazing cousin did my bridal makeup!

After the meal, we moved outside for sparklers and photos, as this was done the staff turned the room down ready for the evening to begin. The band were incredible, the dance floor was full from the first dance until the end of the evening. The whole day felt so perfect, I can't even remember if there was anything that didn't go to plan. Even the rain was perfect.

Advice to other couples…

Let the little things slide, no one but you will notice if things aren't exactly how you planned them. Don't stress over the weather, there's no controlling it, so embrace it. Your amazing photographers and videographers will know how to get the best pictures and film no matter what the weather.
Relax and have as much fun as possible. Its your day, do what makes you happy.
