Lauren & Dan

Welcome to the wedding of Lauren & Dan at Le Petit Chateau

Finally; the most magical celebration

Five days before their first wedding anniversary, Lauren and Dan finally got to celebrate their wedding that should have been, following their magical lockdown elopement. Long term Save-The-Date-followers may remember this pair from the cover of 2020’s bumper edition (Lauren rocked a super cool shorts suit to die for); just two weeks before the big day, they got the news they’d waited 17 months to hear, that they could finally put on their dancing shoes and party like it was 2019 with all their closest people. With the sun shining in early August, they travelled 203 miles north, to Otterburn in Northumberland to the beautiful Le Petit Chateau for their very own little slice of Ibiza at their now anniversary wedding.

Eye Candy

With the bride wearing a Rat and Boa dress with its cascading frills accented by glittering shots of gold metallic that had been hired from HURR, it was the perfect number to kick start their pre-ceremony cocktail hour on the terrace, which was filled with street food and the soundtrack of soulful Ibiza classics, the nattering and laughter of friends and family and the most amazing live music from The Feel Good Choir.

Just before their very personalised vow renewal ceremony began with the lovely Celebrant Charlotte Pennefather, Lauren sneaked off to change in to her beautiful one-of-a-kind puddle train gown, with a delicate floral lace overlay and puffy off the shoulder sleeves, made bespoke by the brilliant Fiona Elizabeth Couture. With the couple’s bulldogs playing ring bearer and dressing the part in Tuna and Bear, they led the way with their bridesmaids dressed in mismatched dresses in tones of coral, peach, nudes and pinks and paired with different bouquets of flowers.  The couple said “We Do” again, shared their personal vows - or in the grooms case a 1 year PDR and exchanged wedding rings which they didn’t get to do the first time round. The vibe was electric, there were tears…lots of tears - and heaps of laughter!

The whole venue was filled with plants, little trinkets, photos and ornaments from the couple’s own home; the style couldn’t have been more them and complemented the romantic floral arrangement styled by the Queens of Florals, Wildfire Floral. Australian influenced with massed bouquets of simple blousy roses and peonies in nudes , dusky peaches and toffee. Floral arrangements of hydrangea , smoke bush and roses adorned the huge ornate fireplace which were then transferred to the top table to sit amongst a treasured collection of nick nacks that they had collected together since they met.

The guests partied in to the evening with shots of tequila and crepes served around the fire pits outside.

There to capture the whole day in photo and film was the super talented Jo Greenfield the Photographer who said, “They’ll always represent the major shift in weddings that covid brought us, and despite a lengthy convo just before I left their wedding, Lauren had no idea how much she’d inspired so many couples. From her determination to go ahead, to her short suit she rocked up in a year ago in the middle of a Northumberland forest.  They pivoted their wedding and showed how perfectly it could be done by splitting it into two parts.  Their Ibiza style street food wedding reception was everything; relaxed, emotional, fun…everything a wedding should be and celebrated their first year of marriage under such difficult circumstances.”
