Laura & Craig

Welcome to the wedding of Lisa & Chris at Bridgford Hall

A Magical Time Of Year…

Laura and Craig married at the West Mill on a beautiful, festive December day (23rd December to be precise!) and our editor Lydia was super honoured to be one of the bridesmaids. Here, Lydia tells us all about the day;

Eye Candy

“I’ve been friends with Laura since school and we’ve always been close. So, when she asked me to be her bridesmaid for the day she married her childhood sweetheart, Craig, I was over the moon. Laura and Craig are two of the loveliest, funniest, warmest people you could ever wish to meet and I was so excited to share their special day with them.

The day began with hair, make up and lots of bubbles at Laura’s parents house. We then drove to the stunning West Mill and headed straight for the bridal suite to finish getting ready and build up the excitement! It was so lovely to look out of the frosty windows and see all the guests begin to arrive, all looking gorgeous and dressed up.

The ceremony was one of my favourite parts of the day. Walking down the aisle, seeing Craig grinning from ear to ear and watching their two little boys, Rory and Freddie alongside their cousins looking too cute and performing perfectly. Laura looked stunning. The two of them exchanged vows, laughing and giggling with little Freddie in the middle of them not leaving their side. The suspended flowers hanging above them were such a stylish focal point (by Maria’s Flowers) and the whole look of the room was just so minimalist and on trend with the lovely views of the River Derwent from the windows.

We then put on our leather jackets and headed outside for some wintry shots whilst everyone listened to the super talented Chloe Rodgers Radcliffe and enjoyed the fizz and canapes. The whole of the venue was styled to perfection courtesy of Fine & Dandy – from the welcome sign to the table décor (talk about swoon) and the post box to the donut wall (another talking point!) Dinner was served and we sat surrounded by candles, pampas grass, wintry flowers and foliage and of course, a stunning Christmas tree to get us all in the Christmas mood! It was just the loveliest, cosiest and most stylish ambience where we all devoured one of the best and most filling wedding breakfast’s I’ve ever had (pie and mash anyone!?) and listened to the most hilarious speeches (mainly at Craig’s expense!)

It was then time for sparklers outside and dancing on the ‘party floor’ … Agent Smith were the band providing the entertainment and boy did they perform. The dancefloor was packed all night and I even managed to get a little duet down the microphone with the lead singer (after a few too many gins!) Such an amazing night to end the most perfect day. We then all stayed over in the cottage on site which was like walking into an interiors magazine and sat together the following morning for breakfast to reminisce about the day. The most amazing, festive, stylish wedding for our forever friends, Mr and Mrs Chambers xx”
